Department of Formal Education

• Preparing and implementing annual work plan for the Formal Education department.
• Manage, supervise and review staff performance appraisal under formal education department.
• Offering On job training and Induction to new staff to the Formal Education department.
• Providing necessary professional leadership and guidance for promotion of Formal Education, Special Needs Education and Gender and Affirmative Action.
• Coordinating all Formal Education Special Needs Education and Gender and Affirmative Action subsector stakeholders.
• Coordination, Monitoring and evaluation of all Formal Education, Special Needs Education and Gender and Affirmative Action activities and programs.
• Oversight responsibility over the registration of Primary and Secondary schools, and Special Needs Education institutions.
• Liaising with PIE, PNEB, DQAS on matters related to management, standards, staffing and discipline of teachers and students in Formal Schools and Special Needs Education centres or institution.
• Advising the Minister and the DG for Education on all professional matters relating to the formulation of policies, plans and regulations necessary for promotion and development of Formal Education in Puntland.
